PTG MEETING MINUTES


February 27, 2012

Officer's present:
Stephanie Bacon-President, Tiffany Moore-Vice President, Lisa O'Callaghan-Vice President, Erin Nelsen-Treasurer, Lisa Ritter-Secretary

President's report: Per Stephanie Bacon, upcoming, Feb. 28th science camp meeting, 5th grade Applebee's fundraiser March 24, on March 14th there will be a meeting on general info. Applebee's money is due on March 14. The tickets are $7 each. The kids receive $5 back on EACH ticket!! Parent's will greet and serve and the kids will bus tables and Applebee's cooks! All proceeds go to Science Camp.  Rummage sale is coming up March 31, $25 a space or 2 spaces for $40. Stephanie Bacon will be point person and needs volunteers!! Contact Stephanie at prunedaleptg@hotmail.com for questions. Also our website has been updated!! A huge thank you to Bethany Collins!!

Vice President's report: Per Tiffany Moore and Lisa O'Callaghan, Our Valentine's dance was a success, the kids had a blast!! And the 5th grade made $148 selling snacks. Pizza fundraiser was a success we made a total $2,650 and our school gets 50% return so we get $1,325!! Our yearbook is in progress this will be further updated.

Treasure's report: Per Erin Nelson, Account Balance: $34,834, GLA’s, Library & Special Accounts: $25,666, Remaining Expenses: $678 (web hosting, Teacher Appreciation Week, Track & Field Day, and supplies) marquee? Reserves: $8,384 goal $9,600, Valentine’s Dance: snacks $148, door -$56 (after expenses)

Teacher's Report: Per Miss. Turner, Teacher's were successful in getting 4 field trips granted for 4th grade and we only have to pay for 2 buses!! Field trips will be Monterey History Day, Point Lobos, San Juan Bautista and Toro Park (unconfirmed). A huge thanks to everyone that put this together!!

Principal's report: Report cards will be coming home March 7th. We may do something for the kids with positive academics and perfect attendance, this will be further updated.

New Business: Working towards having spirit days. Tiffany Moore will be in charge of this. This will be further updated.

Next P.T. G. Meeting:
Will be held March 26th from 3pm-4pm (this has been changed from March 12th)

IMPORTANT REMINDER-WE AS ADULTS ARE TRYING TO PROMOTE SAFTEY FOR OUR CHILDREN WE NEED TO BE SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THEM! THIS STARTS IN OUR OWN SCHOOL PARKING LOT, WE ALMOST HAD A CHILD RAN OVER WHILE THEIR MOTHER WATCHED HELPLESS!! WE EXPECT OUR CHILDREN TO FOLLOW SCHOOL RULES THEN WE NEED TO ALSO!! PLEASE DURING PICK UP AND DROP OFF STAY OUT OF THE BUS LANE AND TEACHER PARKING LOT (EXCEPT HANDICAP & THE FREEMAN FAMILY WHO PURCHASED A SPACE FROM FALL FESTIVAL) THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!! IF WE ALL FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES WE CAN HAVE A SAFE PARKING LOT. FLYERS AND A PHONE CALL MAY GO OUT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN THIS SERIOUS MATTER!!
